Cheerleaders Pom Crazy Silver Squad

The girls are very proud and excited to be invited to Saturday’s game to perform cheer routines before the game and at half time. We look forward to welcoming the squad on Saturday and hope that you will give them a warm reception

They are from Carshalton Cheerleaders Pom Crazy Silver Squad and are the youngest competing squad from the club with girls aged between 9 and 13 years old.  The squad have had a very successful year so far, achieving first place at The Midlands Classic (junior level), fifth in the Internationals and more recently fifth place in the southern classic in Brighton. They have also performed at the 10k run in Hampton Court, Carshalton Carnival and various other fundraising events this year. Saturday’s will be the first time they have performed at a football match.  Their coaches however, Kat and Leanna are members of the “Palace Crystals” who perform at every Palace home match and are part of Carshalton’s top competing squad being one of  the best in the country.

Cheerleading is one of the country’s fastest growing activities and is currently trying to be recognised as a sport so it can be entered into the Olympics. For more information on becoming a Cheerleader or supporting the campaign to get it recognised please contact Jean on 0208 669 0380 or Click Here for the Carshalton Cheerleaders website

The exploits of Merstham Football Club and the Merstham 1st team last season were simply staggering - a run of 42 unbeaten games brought them five major trophies including winning the Combined Counties League by a record margin. To add to this they reached the last eight of the FA Vase, the competition open to all amateur clubs. The success of this team is, however, only part of the success of the whole club which runs an incredible 21 football teams - five for men, one for ladies, two for girls and thirteen for boys! The club has been in existence for over one hundred years and is run by a group of dedicated volunteers who have created a genuine, friendly and successful club for all local residents to enjoy, based around Teamwork, Discipline & Respect.
